Waterloo Station
London
FPSL undertook this major upgrade of the epoxy two hour fire system to circular hollow sections within the station.
Around 20 years ago a specialist epoxy fire resistant system was applied to the circular hollow sections on the platforms on Waterloo Station to provide two hours fire resistance. With the Eurostar moving to its new home at St Pancras Station the platform areas at Waterloo were in need of upgrade and repair. As the orginal system was a moulded epoxy shell manufactured by Nullifire Limited using their F333 product it was necessary to use the same materials to fabricate and reinstate.
FPSL called on the expertise of Fire Protection Coatings Limited in Coventry who were the only company with the expertise capable of moulding Nullifire F333 epoxy half shelves. These shells were shipped to site and the FPSL applicators installed, matched and upgraded the areas that needed repair. This work was carried out through the night so as not to disrupt the operation of the station. The system was finished in a decorative blue topseal.
